Originally from Virginia, WCJ resides in Houston, Texas with his wife of
33 years. He attended Mississippi State University and graduated from the Texas Academy of Art in 1975. WCJ prefers working with bold, primary colored acrylics on acid-free watercolor paper and stretched canvas. He paints abstract and non-objective designs in a style that is reminiscent of cubism with elements of neo-expressionism. For the past 30 years, terms like post-modern, figuratism and expressionistic have been used in an attempt to label the work of WCJ. A blending of geometric figures and abstract collage that are awash in a vast panoply of color have gained WCJ the recognition he enjoys.
